Site Vigil Rating Trend: Month‑by‑MonthHealth of Your WordPress Stack

Your security posture isn’t static. The Site Vigil RatingTrend chart shows how your overall site health (A+ to F, backed by a 0–10score) evolves each month, so you can prove progress and catch regressionsearly.

What It Shows

· A12‑month (or chosen time window)timeline of your Site Vigil Rating

· One point per month representing your compositescore across PHP, WordPress core, theme, and plugins

How It Works

· For each month in the selected period,we:

·      Collect severity counts per component (PHP,core, theme, plugins)

·      Apply the same rating logic used in your main Site Vigil Rating:

·      Penalize Critical/High/Medium/Low/Outdated per module

·      Compute a per‑module score from 0–10

·      Average modules equally into a monthly 0–10rating

·      Map the numeric rating to a grade (A+…F)for easy interpretation

·The chart plots the numeric rating per month;you can display or annotatewith the corresponding grade.

Output Shape

·A list of points like:

·      year:month label (e.g., “Oct 24”)

·      value: rating number (0–10)for that month

·      colorIndex:styling hint for the chart

Example:

· [{year: “Oct 24”, value: 9 }, { year: “Nov 24”, value: 8 }, …]

Why It Matters

· Trendvisibility: See whether your overall riskis shrinking or creeping up.

·Outcome proof: Tie remediation work toimproved ratings over time.

·Release hygiene: Spot dips aftermajor releases, migrations, or plugin changes.

How to Read It

· Upwardtrend (toward 10/A+): Strong health gains—keepyour cadence.

·Flat at 6–7 (B range):Stable but with roomto reduce Medium/High items and outdated components.

·Dips or volatility: Investigaterecent updates, new plugins, or delayed patching.

How to Improve the Trend

·Fix “Critical” and “High”findings first—they move the needle the most.

·Close “Outdated” gaps in PHP, core, theme, and plugins.

· Remove abandoned extensions;standardize monthly maintenance and post‑release scans.

Pair It With

·Vulnerability Breakdown:Understand severity mix behind rating changes.

·High‑Risk Components:Pinpoint which pillar (plugins, theme, core, PHP)is dragging the score down.

The Site Vigil Rating Trend turns monthly security and hygiene work into a clear narrative.Track it, share it, and use it to drive consistent, measurable improvement.
